I was on Ave. D a few days ago. Tom's Tavern Aka ( Bob and Neils ) is now a real estate office, although the facade is still there. Across the street, The Ave. D movie Theater, then 'The Carlyle' is now St. Augustine's Tabernacle. Curran's on E 43rd and D is part of Key Food. Further down, George's Place aka 'Colonial Room' is now part of a furniture store. On Troy and D, you can still see the Olga's Deli sign ( Formerly Richie Clark's Deli ), although I don't think it still has the olde German fare. I tried to get into my old church, ( St. Therese Of Lisieux ) but it was closed ( on Monday ). The sign says that the church is open Tues. through Fri. , but you can only can use the doors between the church and the school. I saw some of the old crowd hanging in front of what was once Von Dohlens Ice Cream Parlor, they included, the 3 Dom's, Gallapani, Del Pret and Troiano, Moose Notaro and Mike Cip, Al Gennusa, Mario Tilelli, Mau Mau Malfetto, Charlie Cozza, Bozo Balsamo, Frank Argenziano, Rocco Ferranti, Jim Profillio, Louie DeMaio, Anthony Aquavella, Vinnie Natilli, Nickie Ranieri, John Viverito, Stephen Tedesco, Sal Festa, Pete Grancio, Tommy Quaranta, Johnny Chianese, Also Wayne and John Ferrantino and last but not least, Tommy Della Bella. 'Look Out', here comes Pete Kane shooing them all away. Ah... ' The Memories '
