I have been through the area several times over the years. I often had breakfast at Hans and Katy's on my way to Albany. And drove by the O'Neill house on my way to Hunter or Windam to ski. I stayed at the Shamrock House a couple a years ago when I was up there for a funeral. I know that the O'Neill House closed a few years ago. And the only places holding up are the old Mullin's now the Blackthorne and Gavin's. I have nothing but fond memories of East Durham. Morty Lynch is still up there at Lynch's Pot of Gold.
