I got to thinking after I read the post about the parochial school haircuts.... I remember my brother (who was a SRL basketball gym rat) getting his hair cut at that fancy new hair salon on 18th Ave, asking the guy to style it like Pistol Pete Maravich's hair. This went along nicely with his floppy gym socks! All was good until Bro Edmund saw it and cut it! Girls had it easier, hair out of the eyes, skirts to the knee (when you knelt down, the skirt had to touch the kneeler/floor) I still laugh when I think of the nuns at St Brendan's pumping us for info on the subliminal messages they thought were imbedded in the songs of the 60's. "I am the walus, I am the egg man...." I didnt know what it meant, I just liked the music. and they really loved Elenor Rigby; really could get "Jesus Christ Superstar".
