It was just south of what was once PS 6 and is now a municipal parking lot for Steinway shoppers. At some point in the late 70's it became a Manufacturers Hanover branch replacing the one that was two or three stores north of the PS 6 lot. MH merged with Chemical Bank, then with Chase Bank, then with JP Morgan. Chase still exists and a Chase branch was on the corner of Broadway and Steinway the last time I was there 4 years ago. That branch was very close to where I grew up and was a Chemical location in those days. It may have even an early 1950's Corn Exchange Bank prior to that. The spot directly across the street(west) was at one time a beer garden. My parents spoke about it often.
